Everyone is familiar withthe Tupperware brand fromconsumer products stock Tupperware Brands Corporation (NYSE: TUP) and you are probably familiar with the brandsof mid cap stock Jarden Corp (NYSE: JAH) along with small cap stocks Libbey Inc (NYSEMKT: LBY) and Lifetime Brands In! c (NASDAQ: LCUT); but what about the stocks themselves? Where growth will come from
One area that Newell Rubbermaid still has to tap fully is emerging markets. The company has done a good job of expanding overseas, with 17% annual growth in Latin America. But with barely a quarter of its sales coming from outside the U.S. and Canada, the company has a lot further to go. Storage rival Tupperware (NYSE: TUP  ) gets fully 60% of its total revenue from emerging markets, and it too has seen impressive gains in South America as well as the Asia-Pacific region.

Last week, the headlines reporting the U.S. Census Bureau's construction numbers for November were a little alarming. Overall construction spending fell 03% -- a big deal for this particular industry -- suggesting heavy construction stocks like MasTec, Inc. (NYSE:MTZ) and Granite Construction Inc. (NYSE:GVA) were in big trouble after a lackluster 2014. The headlines were a little (perhaps more than a little) misleading, though.

    2. 20-Year DCF Price
    3. Avg. P/E Price

GWW is trading at a premium to all four valuations above. The stock is trading at a 10.0% premium to its calculated fair value of $219.95. GWW did not earn any Stars in this section.

Dividend Analytical Data: In this section there are three possible Stars and three key metrics, see page 2 of the linked PDF for a detailed description:

    1. Free Cash Flow Payout
    2. Debt To Total Capital
    3. Key Metrics
    4. Dividend Growth Rate
    5. Years of Div. Growth
    6. Rolling 4-yr Div. > 15%

GWW earned three Stars in this section for 1.), 2.) and 3.) above. A Star was earned since the Free Cash Flow payout ratio was less than 60% and there were no negative Free Cash Flows over the last 10 years. The stock earned a Star as a result of its most recent Debt to Total Capital being less than 45%. GWW earned a Star for having an acceptable score in at least two of the four Key Metrics measured.

Rolling 4-yr Div. > 15% means that dividends grew on average in excess of 15% for each consecutive 4 year period over the last 10 years (2003-2006, 2004-2007, 2005-2008, etc.) I consider this a key metric since dividends will double every 5 years if they grow by 15%. The company has paid a cash dividend to shareholders every year since 1965 and has increased its dividend payments for 42 consecutive years.

Earlier this year the giant food processor, Cargill, partnered with the small Swiss company, Evolva (SIX:EVE), which was developing its own stevia-based fermentation process, also in the pilot stage. As noted earlier in the article, Cargill is in a partnership with Coca-Cola for Truvia, the bestselling stevia product on the market. The success of the Cargill/Evolva partnership could have big implications not just for Cargill and Coca-Cola, but also on the entire stevia and sweetener market. I further believe the success of the partnership could have a major impact on Stevia First. If Cargill fermentation method produces a better tasting stevia product at a lower cost it would give Coca-Cola a considerable advantage over the other beverage bottlers, food manufacturers, and stevia producers. Such an outcome would force these companies to scramble to find a similar method in order to compete. There would be a very good chance that rival companies, in order to stay in the game, would have to turn to the other company developing a fermentation-based stevia product-- Stevia First. If that happens Stevia First value would rise considerably.

Investors love Warren Buffett and they often copy his moves. It is presumed that General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) and DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) will be larger holdings. There might even be more International Business machine Corp. (NYSE: IBM) and SuncorEnergy Inc. (NYSE: SU) as well. Wells Fargo & Co. Raymond James Add $100M Team; $84M Rep Returns to Securities America

Raymond James (RJF) says it has recruited a Wells Fargo (WFC) team, while Securities America (LTS) shared the news that one of its affiliated advisors had come back to the independent broker-dealer.

Joining Raymond James’ employee channel in Blue Ash, Ohio, are advisors David Rodrigo, CFP and CPA, and Jason Goldberg, CFP. The team, which now does business as the Goldberg and Rodrigo Financial Group of Raymond James, has managed more than $100 million in client assets and had $900,000 in annual fees and commissions.

“We are pleased to welcome these successful advisors to our Blue Ash office,” said divisional director Bill Roney of Raymond James, in a statement on Wednesday. “They have grown their business over the years with a strong client-first focus and attitude, a premise that aligns with our values here at Raymond James. We look forward to supporting their efforts, practice and in turn, their clients.”

10 Best Tech Stocks To Watch For 2016

Goldberg has more than 16 years of industry experience and worked as an advisor at A.G. Edwards before it merged into Wachovia and then Wells Fargo Advisors. Rodrigo began his financial services career as a CPA at an international accounting firm. He joined A.G. Edwards in 2006.

“There were several things that attracted us to Raymond James,” said Rodrigo, in a press release. “But to sum it up, we felt that Raymond James was going to allow us the freedom and flexibility we need to manage our practice in a way that allows both us and our clients to succeed. The firm offers access to well-known equity research, mobile technology, social media and custom websites – all components we feel will help our business grow.”

Raymond James Financial has more than 6,200 financial advisors worldwide and total client assets of about $447 billion.

Securities America

The IBD, which is part of Ladenburg Thalmann, said yesterday that Paul Merz is now doing business with it again in Yakima, Wash.

Merz joined Securities America in 2006 as part of Prospera Wealth Management. He left the broker-dealer after Prospera was acquired in 2010 by a larger regional group and joined Valmark Securities.

Prior to his return to Securities America last month, Merz managed $84 million in client assets that generated more than $780,000 in annual revenue. He was with Citigroup/Smith Barney from 1998 to 2006.

“We are proud to welcome Paul Merz back to the Securities America family,” said Gregg Johnson, senior vice president of branch office development and acquisitions, in a statement. “Paul is our fifth top advisor to return to Securities America in the past six months, and the reason we hear most often from these advisors is their desire to ‘come home.’ ”

Securities America has more than 1,700 independent advisors responsible for $50 billion in client assets.

“I'm very happy and excited to be back with Securities America,” said Merz, in a press release. “Before leaving, I was utilizing the Managed Opportunities platform, and I recently reached a point in my career where I want to offer my clients what I consider to be one of the best managed-money platforms available.”

Top 10 Regional Bank Stocks To Invest In Right Now

Given that you clicked on this article, it seems safe to assume you either own stock in First Niagara Financial (NASDAQ: FNFG  ) or are considering buying shares in the near future. If so, then you've come to the right place. The table below reveals the nine most critical numbers investors need to know about First Niagara Financial stock before deciding whether to buy, sell, or hold it.

But before getting to that, a brief introduction is in order. First Niagara traces its roots back to 1870 with the founding of Farmers and Mechanics' Savings Bank. In the intervening years, it's grown into one of the largest regional banks in the Northeastern United States. While it did so, according to Wikipedia, through "the recruitment of new customers, as opposed to the purchase of other firms' assets," the same can't be said of the bank's growth in the time since the financial crisis. The Buffalo, New York-based bank has completed multiple acquisitions over the last five years, culminating in the recent and anticlimactic departure of its now-former CEO John Koelmel. At present, First Niagara has $37 billion in assets and 360 branches in four Northeastern states.

There are a number of ways to invest successfully. I have friends who are very successful value investors. Most of their returns are earned through capital appreciation. They spend a great deal of time pouring through 10-Ks and 10-Qs of companies off the beaten path. The potential returns are high, but so is the effort put in their craft. At the other extreme there are successful traders. They look at their charts to determine entry and exit points for the day's transactions. Little to no time is spent analyzing the underlying fundamentals of the company since it likely will only be held for a very short period of time. I would put investors in dividend growth stocks somewhere between these two, but much closer to the pure value investor. Like the value investors, our time-frame is long term. Although we carefully research potential companies, our emphasis leans more toward fundamental metrics needed to sustain annual dividend growth, with less emphasis on current value. There are successful investors in each of the above groups, and they share a common trait. This trait is found in most all successful people t is their secret to success. Fortunately, this trait can be learned and mastered. The secret to successful investing is... discipline. A person that moves from one investment strategy to another lacks the discipline to be successful. Very few people are born with the raw intellect that allows them to just pick winning stocks out of the air. For the rest of us, we have to rely on our discipline to do what's necessary to identify stocks that will provide us with our best opportunity to succeed, and we have to remain focused on quality over the long-term. So what is GE to do? The O&G segment is a very fast growing and nicely profitable business that is synergistic with the rest of GE's industrial operations. Yet it is such a small part of the company, its valuation is being diluted by GE's other businesses. A spin-off would surely unlock value. That said, a spun-off O&G company would be a relatively small player compared to a companies like Schlumberger (SLB), with $42 billion in 2012 revenue and a P/E=19.5, and even Haliburton (HAL), with $24.8 billion in 2012 revenue and a P/E=23.6. But both these companies trade at a premium valuation to GE (P/E=17.8) despite GE's higher dividend yield (3.1%).

    China
In fueling its fast-growing economy, China is overtaking the U.S. as the world's largest oil importer. The good news for the Chinese is that it has vast shale oil reserves that could help it join the U.S. in lessening its dependence on foreign imports. The country's producers, including Sinopec and PetroChina, have taken a unique approach to developing these reserves, as both havepurchased joint venture stakes in U.S. shale basins as well as pursuing joint study agreements in China with U.S.-based producers including ConocoPhillips. These actions have enabled the country to inexpensively access our technical know-how in developing its vast reserves. Finally, one area to watch here is that Chinese producers have partnered with U.S.-based oilfield-service companies, including Halliburton (NYSE: HAL  ) . The company is providing important software to help these operators map out the best way to tap those shale resources. It also has a terrific suite of services to offer as these resources are developed over time.
